Graduated from Wildwood HS (NJ) in 1934. Graduated from St. Joseph's College in Philadelphia, Pa. Served in U.S. Navy during WWII. Taught at Wildwood Catholic High School and served as basketball and baseball coach. Annual Frank McAlarnen Memorial Basketball Tournament named in his honor.

Graduated from Wildwood HS (NJ) in 1932. She liked to bird watch and collect sand dollars on the beach. She was a member of St. Ann RC Church, and the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality of the church.

Married in 1940. Opened beach grill jointly with Frank's brother Raymond. Later they jointly operated the Time and Tide motel in North Wildwood.
